Local Business Schema

Schema.org helps robots and crawlers understand facts about a website, business, people, or the content on a web page. Website Builder has made it easy to enable Local Business Schema on your site by filling in the content library of a site you are building. Website Builder makes sure that you add enough data and the right kind of data to accurately reflect the schema. This is important to make sure that the schema is valid with Google and other search engines that rely on schema.

All of the information from the business info screen from the first location will be used, as well as logo and business name. In addition we'll use the About Us paragraph in business text, and the first 5 images from the business images screen, if they exist.

Supported Fields

The following table includes the supported fields. Some of these fields are required and some are recommended. Schema cannot be generated without the required fields. It is recommended you add as many fields as possible to generate a more accurate schema.

Business Name (Not location name)	Yes	The name of the business as it is most commonly represented to customers.
Address	Yes	The physical address of a business. If there is no in-person store or location that can be visited, we recommend not enabling schema.
Geo	Yes*	The LAT/ON that represents the business location. *Website Builder will try to generate this automatically based on the address sent in the content library.
Social Networks	No	The social profiles of the business. In Schema, this is represented as 'sameAs' which means this is other URLs where the business can be found online.
Business Hours	No	The hours the business is open.
Image (under Business Images)	Yes	A group of images that represent the business. While this is not required for Schema, the Google validation tools require it. So, Website Builder makes this required as well. Image is the same as Business Images in the editor.
Email	No	An email address to contact the business.
Phone	No	A phone number where the business can be contacted.
Logo	No	A logo that represents the business. While not required, this is strongly recommended.
About Us (under Business Text)	No	A short description giving an overview of the business.
Business Type	No	Different types of businesses that more closely align with what the actual business does.
Custom (must complete Business Type field first)	No	Add fields relevant to your business type. For example, if your business is a restaurant, you can add fields for menu, cuisine type, and delivery options.

Generate Local Business Schema

To generate local business schema:

1. In the side panel of the editor, click Content, and then click Business Info.

2. Ensure you enter as many details as you can on the Business Info page, including About Us text and Business Images.

3. Click Review and Enable Schema.

4. Review your information and then click Enable Schema.

After generating the schema, your site must be published for it to take effect.

Validate Schema

To ensure your schema is valid, click the Validate with Google link on the Schema popup that appears. Alternatively, you can validate the site URL after the site is published using Google's Rich Results tool.
